AP High Court case status
Check AP High Court case status by case number or by party name. The Andhra Pradesh High Court has sat at Amaravati since 2019, when it separated from the old joint High Court at Hyderabad.
That split is why an older case may not be where you expect. Matters that stayed with Telangana are on the Telangana High Court register, not this one.

Before you search
Four things, and all four have to be right.
Get one wrong and you get an empty result, not an error. That's what makes these searches so frustrating.
- Case type. The same number goes out under every type each year. A writ petition and a criminal appeal can both be 1234.
- Case number. The number allotted when the case was registered.
- Year. When it was filed, not the year of your next hearing.
- Bench. there's only one seat, at Amaravati, so there's nothing to pick.
Worth keeping to hand: your CNR, the 16-character code printed on every order and filing receipt. It never changes, so it's the thing to quote when you deal with the registry, and it's what a district court search takes as its key.
Cause list
Where your case falls in the day.
The registry publishes the next day's running order each evening: court number, bench, and where your matter sits in the list. Find your case above, then track it and we'll tell you when it's next listed.
Other names
Same court, different names.
People search the Andhra Pradesh High Court as AP High Court, APHC, Amaravati High Court. They're all the same court, and this page covers every one of them.
Questions
The things people ask us.
How do I check AP High Court case status?
Search by case number with its case type and filing year, or by a party name with the year. The court sits at Amaravati and has one register.
Why is my old Andhra case not showing up?
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana shared one High Court at Hyderabad until 2019. Cases that stayed with Telangana at the split are on the Telangana High Court register, not the Andhra Pradesh one.
Where does the Andhra Pradesh High Court sit?
At Amaravati, in Guntur district. Before 2019 the state was served by the joint High Court at Hyderabad.
What is APHC?
It is the common abbreviation for the Andhra Pradesh High Court, used by the registry and the bar. Searching APHC and searching the full name reach the same court.
Can I check an AP High Court case without the case type?
No. The registry needs the type, the number and the year together, because the same serial number is issued under every case type each year. Search by party name instead if you do not have the type.

Other High Courts.
If this isn't your court
Where to look instead.
Filed somewhere else? Telangana High Court, Madras High Court and Karnataka High Court sit next door. If you are not sure which High Court a case belongs to, High Court case status for every bench is the place to start, and the seat is decided by where the case was filed rather than where you live.
A matter below the High Court will not be on this register at all. For those, use the district court case status search, which also accepts a CNR.
We read the public eCourts record, so this is only as current as the registry has published. If something turns on a deadline or a limitation period, check with the registry or your advocate. Don't rely on us for that. If it's the law itself you need, the bare acts are here in full.
