Before you search
Four things, and all four have to be right.
Get one wrong and you get an empty result, not an error. That's what makes these searches so frustrating.
- Case type. The same number goes out under every type each year. A writ petition and a criminal appeal can both be 1234.
- Case number. The number allotted when the case was registered.
- Year. When it was filed, not the year of your next hearing.
- Bench. this court sits in 2 places, and each keeps its own register. They're listed below.
Worth keeping to hand: your CNR, the 16-character code printed on every order and filing receipt. It never changes, so it's the thing to quote when you deal with the registry, and it's what a district court search takes as its key.
Benches
Pick the right seat, or you'll find nothing.
Each bench of the Rajasthan High Court keeps its own register and its own cause list. A case filed at one simply doesn't appear in a search of another, and that, far more than anything else, is why a search you're sure should work comes back empty.
- Principal Seat, Jodhpur
- Jaipur Bench
Cause list
Where your case falls in the day.
The registry publishes the next day's running order each evening: court number, bench, and where your matter sits in the list. Each bench publishes its own. Find your case above, then track it and we'll tell you when it's next listed.
Other names
Same court, different names.
People search the Rajasthan High Court as RHC, Jaipur High Court, Jodhpur High Court. They're all the same court, and this page covers every one of them.
Questions
The things people ask us.
How do I check Rajasthan High Court case status by case number?
Select Jaipur or Jodhpur, pick the case type (SBCWP, DBCWP, SBCMA and so on), then enter the case number and filing year.
What is the difference between the Jaipur and Jodhpur seats?
Jodhpur is the principal seat; Jaipur is a bench. Which one hears your matter depends on the district it arises from. They maintain separate registers, so searches do not cross over.
What does RHC mean?
RHC is the common abbreviation for the Rajasthan High Court, used for both the Jodhpur and Jaipur seats.
What do SB and DB mean in a Rajasthan case number?
SB is a Single Bench matter and DB a Division Bench matter. For example SBCWP is a Single Bench Civil Writ Petition. It forms part of the case type you select when searching.
Is there a Jaipur High Court?
Not by that name. Jaipur is a bench of the Rajasthan High Court. The principal seat is at Jodhpur, and the two keep separate registers.
What do RHC and HCRAJ mean?
Both are abbreviations for the Rajasthan High Court. HCRAJ comes from the court’s own web address and RHC is the shorter form used in references.
Which districts go to the Jaipur bench?
The Jaipur bench covers the eastern districts of Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Kota. The western districts, including Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur, go to the principal seat at Jodhpur.

If this isn't your court
Where to look instead.
Filed somewhere else? MP High Court, Punjab & Haryana High Court and Gujarat High Court sit next door. If you are not sure which High Court a case belongs to, the High Court case status hub is the place to start, and the seat is decided by where the case was filed rather than where you live.
A matter below the High Court will not be on this register at all. For those, use court case status for district courts, which also accepts a CNR.
We read the public eCourts record, so this is only as current as the registry has published. If something turns on a deadline or a limitation period, check with the registry or your advocate. Don't rely on us for that. If it's the law itself you need, the bare acts are here in full.
